Board of Education Honors Trippett and Retiring School Employees With 25 Years of Service

The White Plains Board of Education honored retiring Board Member Lewis P. Trippett for his six years of service, including two years as President of the Board at the June Board of Education Meeting June

Current President Donna McLaughlin said his contributions have made an impact on the quality of education in White Plains. She presented him with an engraved school bell and pointed out that his name has been added to the plaque in the Assembly Room at Education House which lists all Board members.

Jerry Gorski, President of the White Plains Teachers Association, gave Mr. Trippett a proclamation and announced a donation to the Ridgeway School Library in his name. President of the Administrators and Supervisors Association Andrew Morzello announced a contribution to the White Plains High School Scholarship Fund in Mr. Trippett's honor, and PTA Council Co-Presidents Patricia Koizim and John Locascio presented Mr. Trippett with the prestigious PTA Jenkins Memorial Scholarship Award.

At the June Regular Board Meeting, the White Plains Board of Education honored 25-year staff members and those who are retiring. Board President Donna McLaughlin thanked these people for their important contributions to the district and spoke of how education has changed and how they have stepped up to the challenge of the new academic standards.

Superintendent of Schools Saul Yanofsky said that "behind each person is a story of someone who has done an outstanding job and who has made a difference for thousands of students over the years."

Twenty-five year staff members are: members are: Eric Clark, Morris Hoffman, Abife Lockhart, Madhy Oya, Gary Peluso, Douglas Robinson, Judith Schermerhorn, Ann Serrao, Kayreitha Smalls and Dennis Ubriaco.

The retires are: Judith Adler, Neal Berkin, MaryAnn Brown, Ivan Burnett, Sara Castaldo, Richard Ciappa, Carolyn Cooke, Susan Danow, Phyllis Feinberg, Livvie Fillyow, Joanne Fitzpatrick, Helen Gray, Johnny Greene, Connie Henderson, Sue Huppert, Connie Iervolino, Linda Johnson, Fred McGill, Aldo Menichino, Diane Mihlrad, Andrew Morzello, Cynthia New, Catherine O'Brien, Carol Pace, Linda Rodney, Frances Rosenzweig, Dede Rothenberg, William Schildwachter, Raymond Schulz, Beverly Shippee, Cary Smith and Eileen Tallent.
