City Projects on Move

Three city projects gain momentum.

The Mayor's Office released status reports on three key White Plains projects now in progress.

The Streetscape refurbishing is moving along with black, high classic street lamposts being shipped in from Canada. Presently electrical bases are being installed along the side avenues and Mamaroneck Avenue. Trash receptacles and the new elegant silver benches are on route and are expected to be installed in the first week of September.

The new Department of Public Works Garage being constructed by Bianco & Pepe' on Brockway Place is awaiting steel girders and they are expected in this week. City Hall reports the pilings will begin to be installed by July 30. The next order of business on the supermarket project is the demolition of the bank building along Westchester Avenue, which is expected to begin the first week in August.
