Information Blackout on Bradley Workers?

WPCNR NEW CASTLE VOICE. Letter to the Editor From Maureen Keating-Tsuchiya September 14, 2002: The following is a first person account from one campaign worker for the Adam Bradley campaign, alleging uneven treatment from county and Assembly District 89 officials in seeking information on Tuesday's election returns. The writer is Co-Chair of the New Castle Democratic Party:
Letter to the editor
I didn't realize that Westchester County had succeeded from the state of New York and became part of Florida until yesterday when I tried to contact Reggie Lafayette. Layfayette, the ''Democratic" Election Commissioner for Westchester County, refused to let me have a copy of the re-canvas schedule of the election machines in the 89th Assembly District.
This was after I explained that I was a party leader in New Castle who had been designated by Adam Bradley, candidate for the 89th A.D., to assemble teams to accompany representatives of the Westchester Board of Elections in the re-canvas of voting machines.
In addition, Lafayette and Company wouldn't release any 89th A.D. election results yesterday (September 13) to the public but select members of the press were able to get information.
Since I use crutches or a scooter to buzz around, I need to know what the logistics are in the locations of the storage of these voting machines as I will attend this "democratic process." Gee, I wish I could find that phone number for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Civil Rights, for the southern district of New York.
Furthermore, I was turned away yesterday when I called and visited local Town Clerks for election returns. Patricia Dwyer, Mt. Kisco City Manger and Town Clerk, (914/241-0500 ext. 8) told me to my face that she had no election results and had forwarded all information to Lafayette's office, when I called and visited her office yesterday afternoon for a breakdown of results by Election District in the 89th A.D. Yes, I did advise Dwyer and her staff that I didn't believe them.
Maybe I should call Jim Steets, spokesman at Indian Point nuclear power plant and find out if that hydrogen leak which caused the closure of Indian Point 2 yesterday, is causing this Florida trend in Westchester. Perhaps someone at Indian Point can advise me about this global warming trend and whether it was accelerated because Entergy closed down Indian Point 2 the day after election day?
Sincerely,
Maureen Keating Tsuchiya
