WPCNR TOAST OF THE TOWN. January 16, 2007: White Plains businessman John Martin will be the honoree at The Friendly Gathering, Westchester's famous Irish dinner and sing-a-long, which will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 7PM at Good Counsel's Kearney Gym in White Plains. Chairman of the White Plains St. Patrick's Day Parade, Mr. Martin will be recognized with the Msgr. Ed O'Brien Community Service Award for his civic, community and church involvement. The event will benefit the RDC Center for Counseling & Human Development as well as Centro Hispano and White Plains Meals-on-Wheels.

John Martin Tapped by Friendly Gathering
"The Friendly Gathering is the friendliest and best Irish gathering in the area," according to Sister Lauren McLeod, Director of the RDC Center for Counseling. "We are especially pleased to be honoring John Martin whose vision and leadership have made the White Plains St. Patrick's Day Parade an anticipated annual city tradition bringing together people of all backgrounds for a festive celebration."
A graduate of Pace Law School, Mr. Martin is founder and general counsel for All New York Title Agency in White Plains. He has served as New York and New Jersey counsel for Lawyers Title Insurance Corp., and was chairman of the Westchester County Bar Association Real Property Law Section from 1993 to 2003. A former White Plains Common Council member, he is active in various civic organizations including Chairman of White Plains Housing Services, a neighborhood preservation corporation, and President of the Fisher Hill Association. He also has served as Vice Chair of the Urban Renewal Agency and Chair of the most recent Comprehensive Plan Management Committee. Mr. Martin currently is a member of the Board of Assessment Review and Treasurer of the Business Improvement District. In addition, he is President of Our Lady of Sorrows Men's Club, a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and Treasurer of the White Plains Plainsmen Hockey Association.
The Friendly Gathering features a delicious corned beef and cabbage dinner and a night of Irish laughter, songs, dancing featuring traditional Irish music performed by a premier Sligo-style fiddler Brian Conway and his group as well as the O'Rourke Academy of Irish Dance.
