WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. August 2, 2006: A reader decries the attacks on senior housing at the post office site in White Plains:
John,
Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the old post office property owned by the County? If it is not selling the land, why does it need to offer the land to White Plains? And if the land were so important to the economic "revival" being attempted (there's a whole lot of "for rent" signs on Mamk Ave - why?) why doesn't the City commence eminent domain procedures?
Seems like some people will go to any lengths, no matter how ridiculous they sound, to attempt a smear at Dennis Power. Senior housing is senior housing, whether the City or County puts it there - personally I trust the County over the City when it comes to eco friendly designing and cognizance of state of the art environmental designs.
