"I wanted to thank you for the fantastic article you did on the Riddell Bowl! Outstanding and reminded me of the old Grantland Rice days when football was reported in such a great way. The kids appreciated the entire article and the most professional way it was done."

Cibelli Warning Discounted by Affordable Housing Advocate. Posted on Tuesday, August 01 @ 20:00:00 EDT by jfbailey

Toast of the Town!

WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. August 1, 2006: Paul Schwarz, former Dennis Power Campaign Manager, and senior housing advocate takes issue with Cas Cibelli's remarks to the Board of Legislators Monday evening, posted earlier:

John -

We can certainly see where Mr. Cibelli is coming from, can't we?  From his unsuccessful run for Bill Ryan's seat last year, he is making a bid for the open Common Council Seat.  A darling of the mayor (who in a formality even entered Cibelli's name for the appointed five-month interim)he is here giving voice to the views of his patron, a man who would turn down anything the County offered, even gold paving stones, just to spite his nemesis, the Chairman of the Board (William Ryan).

What nonsense!  The County's action would bring about and give to the City a senior building finer than any now existing here, something we need desperately.  Mr. Cibelli warns us that it will turn into a "300-bed homeless shelter."  What crass dishonesty. These guys are still angry that the County is housing the homeless on Court Street.  Apparently they would prefer them back on the street at night.

Mr. Cibelli warns us that we could get "La Guardia Airport" in our back yards.  Could someone please remind him that it is his own dear friend who is allowing the city to be overbuilt by greedy developers, and who gives away a public garage.  Please, Mr. Cibelli, spare us the lectures about being a careful guardian of the City treasury.

-Paul Schwarz
