WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. July 25, 2006: A reader writes in to say Mr. Sheehan's analysis is very on the mark:
John-
I read Tim Sheehan's analysis of the Dennis Power appointment and found the conflict of interest reasoning behind it based on very sound logic. Since I've served with Tim on the Budget and Management Committee for several years, I've also had the oppportunity to observe his attitudes and actions first-hand and he has a very genuine concern for our City on a non-partisan basis. Therefore, whether people agree or disagree with his analysis, I believe you should amend your lead-in title which has called it a "Republican responds". That title mis-characterizes what he is saying. He's clearly expressing his views as a White Plains resident as am I. For the record, I've lived in White Plains for over 20 years and practised my profession here for over 30 years. Although I too am a registered Republican, like most people I know, I vote for the candidate, not the party.
Best regards,
Ted Peluso
