WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VIEWS. July 18, 2006: Brian Thomas responds to previous comments:
John,
Just to clarify a few things for Mr. Pucca, the "high level aide for Dennis Power," WPCNR was the one that showed the picture that Mr. Hacohen sent in was not an accurate portrayal, I merely commented upon that and asked that in the future if you are going to make a point then it should be grounded.

In response to Ms. Piekos, I dont recall mentioning Delfino in my comments. The fact that you assumed that my comments were made on behalf of a political party shows just how jaded some residents are when it comes to issues of development and progress.
Also, to go a step further, maybe you are part of the "extreme" arm of the Democratic Party of WP that has attempted to hijack control of the direction of the city. The men and women of the extreme arm are not representing the position of the majority of residents in this city.
The Bush Admin. is rightly criticized for "smelling their own fumes" or always talking to each other on issues, it is also true for the "extremists" of the WP Dems.
The comprehensive plan is a perfect example. In a city that is more than 40% African-American and Hispanic, we saw not one face of diversity take to the podium to articulate the needs of their community. It was a forum for the angry band of 10 men, and Paula. Sad, but true.
Since you mentioned the November 2005 election, I will comment on it. Dennis Power was the candidate after the Dems shut the door in the face of Ron Jackson when he stepped up to run an issues based campaign.
The party of diversity? I think not. Dennis Power, and his staff, ran a negative campaign that had no platform. Walking around with a parking meter, and catchy phrases about development don't inspire people.
Now before you start writing that they had a financial deficit, look at the facts. WP is more than 2-1 registration Dems to Republicans. Therefore, money should not be the main impediment to getting someone elected, especially if the party itself is organized, and the candidate is credible.
Thanks, John, I wanted to clear that up for Mr. Manzini, Mr. Pucca, and Ms. Piekos.
