WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. June 3, 2006: The former Mayor of White Plains Alred Del Vecchio, makes this observation on The Pinnacle application for more condominium units, five more stories and and an increase in height for their condo tower on Main Street:
John,
I share councilman Arnold Bernstein's concern over developer Ginsberg's "exponentially" rising construction costs on the luxury condominiums he's building in White Plains; and I want to encourage our elected officials to give away whatever taxpayer's money and assets are necessary to ensure that developer Ginsberg makes a substantial profit on his investment.
In order to determine how much of the City's tax money and city assets will be given to developer Ginsberg to ensure his profit, I suggest that the City of White Plains do an in depth (or should I say debt?) audit of his books. After all, the City did that when Cappelli promised the City big profits and lower taxes a few years ago when the City gave him $23.4 million and unlimited zoning increases. Or didn't the City do all those things for the taxpayers?
I would also like to offer councilman Arnold Bernstein a good buy if he would like to invest some his money on a sure thing. Trust me.
What the h---, this is White Plains, the city of happy taxpayers. Come and get it, it's yours for the taking.
Alfred Del Vecchio
