May 26, 2006: A reader expresses disgust at the $148M plus city budget passed last night, ($148M plus when raises of Commissioners and non-union personnel are factored in), which the Common Council passed, that raised salaries of Commissioners, Administrators, and Councilpersons, and the Mayor with no restraint:

Isn't this the way of business for the City of White Plains?  The rich get richer and the gap between Kings and servants become wider.  4% for the Commisioners, same as the line workers who actually need the money and deserve the raise.

 And, what about the perks?  Free take home cars, free city gas, free parking privilages, big climate controlled offices, free trips and expenses.  These Kings don't write the tickets, pick up the garbage, put out the fires, inspect the dirty buildings.  The Top Commissioner/King will soon earn as much as the President of the U.S. A.  Good work Common Council, another victory for royalty 7-0 shutout vs. the taxpayer servant.
