CNR Readers Submit Questions for Dream News Conference. Posted on Monday, May 08 @ 09:07:02 EDT by jfbailey

Toast of the Town!

WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. May 8, 2006: A couple of WPCNR regular readers have posed some questions for the Tony Snows of the City Administration. Here we go:

John,

I'll accept the challenge set forth in your latest posting on WPCNR.com.

It is simply this:

Why is it, when the city budget is out of balance, taxes of various sorts always go up,
and there is never any talk of cutbacks or other reductions in expenditures?

And if you allow me to really indulge:

Why is it, that despite the utter rage it generates in residents and visitors alike,
do parking fees keep increasing, and enforcement continue to be so vicious
and overzealous?  Does no one realize in City Hall that some of these fees
are a significant fraction of some people's take home pay for a week?

Sincerely,

Aaron Woodin

And this from Carl Albanese:

Mr. Bailey,

Since you have given the CNR reader the opportunity to propose questions to the Common Council or the Mayor for hypothetical answers, my questions for obvious reasons are invitations to the Common Council Members who wish to have an open dialogue with community.

Q&A for Common Council Members

1- Do you think you have community support?
2- Do you think you lost community support?
3- Do you think you will ever re-gain community support?
4- Do you think community supports you?
5- Do you think you represent the best interest of community?
6- Do you think you represent your best interest?
7- Do you think you understand community needs?
8- Do you think community will re-elect you?
9- Do you think you should be re-elected?
10 - Do you think you should be the next Mayor?
11 - Do you think you understand these questions?
12- Will not answer any of the above?
