WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. MARCH 27, 2006: A reader objects to Mayor Delfino's ridicule of concern over the city's finances in light of Moodys removing the negative outlook description of the city's bonds Friday.
John,
I would like to respond to the Mayor’s categorization of people concerned about the city’s finances as predicting a ‘doomsday’ scenario. That is similar to painting people concerned about 400’ buildings as being against development.

Someone who always wears a seatbelt is not predicting ‘doomsday’ on the highway, just being responsible. And someone who drives their car without buckling up, with under inflated tires, and a broken headlight and who does not have an accident is just plain lucky.
This should be a discussion between rational, concerned residents. Just because people disagree does not make one side right, the other wrong; one side good, the other evil; one position fact, the other rhetoric.
