WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. February 15, 2006: A resident and WPCNR reader writes in about a pIanned Walmart policy he has been told about:
I am a long time White Plains resident (13 years now) and live on North Broadway in a co-op apartment. Yesterday we were informed by the manager of Central Parking, the company that manages the former Sears parking garage, that after March we would no longer be allowed to park in the new Walmart garage. He was told that Walmart did not want any monthly parkers in their garage.

As you may already know, many of the residents in my neighborhood and building have insufficient parking in their buildings and are on long waiting lists. For example, my own waiting list is almost three years (I''ve been waiting for 2 1/2 years already). There are waiting lists for the surrounding municipal lots as well due to the construction projects.
This poses a huge crisis for many of your residents. Where do we now park our cars? We are trying to sell our co-op apartment and are already experiencing difficulties due to our own building's waiting list, and yet now not only do we have a crisis in our own parking, but will have an even harder time trying to sell.
Something needs to be done, and soon.
