WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. January 19, 2006: A resident of Gedney Farms reports on the outages that still existed as of this morning:

As of 10 a.m., parts of Gedney Farms were still without power. Houses have no electricity to fire up the gas furnaces (therefore houses are about 50 degrees - mine), sump pumps are not working - basements are starting to gather water (mine), refrigerators are warm - food is now spoiled, ice has melted, frozen meats are spoiled (mine).

Power in this area has been out since about 9:15 a.m. 1/18/06. It's like we are living in the Third World at this point. Anybody got a prognosis or battery operated water pumps? Con Ed and WPPD know nothing other than "crews are working".

I bet Rita has power (her side of the area had power last night).
