You are doing a very good job with your show, WHITE PLAINS WEEK. It is one of the best local access programs I have seen in Westchester.

Friend Laments Department of Social Services Role in Woman's Death Posted on Saturday, December 03 @ 10:00:00 EST by jfbailey

Toast of the Town!

WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VIEWS. December 4, 2005: A reader recalls another person whom, he alleges, the Westchester County Department of Social Services let slip through the cracks:

I address this letter to the County Exec Andy Spano as well as the Department of Social Services, and anyone who has been wronged by the Department of Social Services.

On February 20, 2005, a dear friend of mine died, not so much from her illness but of a broken heart, caused by the Department of Social Services total lack of care or concern for her and her family, which the Department of Social Services broke up.

Her 3 boys were taken from her all based on false charges and total lies, because of their actions this bright and often times up beat woman lost her home, her children and herself in the process.

She went to a shelter in White Plains which about one year ago was going to close had it not been for myself, her and others living at the shelter.

Though the shelter to this day remains open, this woman went to the Hospital in White Plains, NY where she after 2 weeks there died.  Not as I said so much because of what she had, but from a broken heart, this wonderful woman lost her will to live thus her body shut down.

It is the Department of Social Services and some other Westchester County agencies I hold responsible for her death, this report from the Grand Jury does not paint a wonderful picture, rather shows the awful side, the true side of the Department of Social Services, this scathing report on the Department of Social Services barely tells the story.

It is my opinion that the Department of Social Services of Westchester County needs a major overhaul, before more people die as a result of their failure to act in the correct manner.

Before more families are ripped apart by their heartless actions.  Before it is too late for other families...

Sincerely,

The Reverend George Sinzer

Universal Life Church
