Reader Recalls A Bygone Era After Mayors' Endorsement Posted on Friday, October 28 @ 01:07:45 EDT by jfbailey

Toast of the Town!

WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. October 28, 2005: A reader recalls the Council Term of Dennis Power, after reading of the Mayors' dual endorsement Thursday:

It is interesting to see that former elected officials Sy Schulman and Al
DelVecchio are endorsing Dennis Power for Mayor. Both men have been visibly
absent from the political scene for more than a decade, as has Mr. Power.

A  deeper look into the records of both men proves to be highly enlightening.  As a one term Mayor with a lack  of accomplishment, Sy's endorsement means what exactly? That would be akin
to a Council candidate asking for Dennis Power's endorsement.

And Al   Del Vecchio, where should I start? He has burned every bridge but the Tappan  Zee. Al has forgotten that his favorite pastime during the Dennis Power  years on Common Council was to chide Mr. Power's lack of knowledge of the  rules of procedure. My, how fast we have forgotten the administrations of  Schulman and Del Vecchio. Time apparently heals all wounds.
