WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. October 27, 2005: Despite a most civil and touchy feely debate at Battle Hill Wednesday evening, controversy still lingers over "The Mayor's Bad Night," one week ago. An eyewitness disputes why there was booing at the Highlands one week ago:
Your reader that suggested it was some other factor than a bad incumbent Mayor in Joseph Delfino that drew "boos" from the debate crowd was comical to read.
The Mayor didn't get booed and draw gasps because of some hidden agenda in the crowd.
He got booed because he doesn't work for the taxpayers who employ him. He got booed because he dismissed serious problems like rising taxes, parking and traffic. He got booed because he said it's all minutiae and that new ideas were part of Silly Season.
I was there. I saw it live. Mayor Delfino got booed and was chided because he's just a bad Mayor and we need a new one.
