WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VIEWS. July 21, 2005: I was just about to found a national organization for real reporters called SAVIOUR -- The Society for Abused, Valiant, Intelligent, Ostracized Untouchable Reporters when I received this letter.
A reader pats the old CitizeNetReporter on the back for my News and Comment piece, "The Creeping Coup Continues by the Book," our analysis of the jailing of Judith Miller of The Times, while the reporter who actually broke Plame's cover continues to write columns and is not even mentioned as possibly having committed treason by doing so. Keep those cards and letters and e-mails coming.

Kick-ass editorial. I wish that the irony of ranting against
"mainstream media" from nationally syndicated shows and cable networks was
more widely appreciated. Perhaps our little national experiment with
'journalism' and 'objective' news is at a close and we've returned to the
days when 'news' was entirely political. Our only hope may be that the
latent preference of media for spectacle over substance will triumph over
repetitive propaganda.
