WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. JULY 4, 2005: Doris Sassower, mother of Elena Sassower, of White Plains, the White Plains citizen jailed for disruption of congress June 28, 2004, brings WPCNR up-to-date on Ms. Sassower's appeal:
Just want to call your attention John to a few errors in your otherwise fine report as to "What Senators Would Vote NOT to apologize for Lynchings of African-Americans?"
After the words "Disruption of Congress" (and btw, you need to add the second quote mark], the year 2002 needs to be changed to 2003.
At the conclusion, kindly delete the words that she is "planning to argue her appeal of her conviction and sentence for "Disruption of Congress"[for consistency this should also both be in quotes and capitalized], as that statement is inaccurate. Should read "Ms. Sassower is planning to file her appeal on June 28, 2005, one year to the day of her sentence for SIX MONTHS in jail for respectfully requesting to testify at a US Senate Judiciary Committee Public Hearing in opposition to Richard Wesley, President Bush's judicial nominee to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals (reviewing all NY federal district court appeals). Her opposition was based on his “documented corruption in the NY Court of Appeals” when he joined in “dumping” two lawsuits against the NYS Commission on Judicial Conduct, whose alleged function is to police our NYS judiciary.
For the benefit of those of your readers unfamiliar with the fact, it would also be nice for you to identify Elena as White Plains Person of the Year 2004 as "Defender of the Constitution."
And if you’d like another story, John, you can report that Elena personally traveled down to Washington, DC this past Monday June 28, to file her briefs and records on appeal with the DC Court of Appeals, prepared entirely by herself as a pro se litigant. The copier recorded more than 20,000 pages by the time she finished her massive job.
For your information, when Elena's eminent pro bono counsel refused to take on the issues of judicial bias and other misconduct, Elena decided to proceed on her own and has now herself courageously fully exposed and recorded these issues for all time. Elena’s jailing by DC Superior Court Judge Brian F. Holeman must always be recalled on the 4th of July as one of the most shameful events in our country’s history.
Her filed appeal papers are now posted on the Center for Judicial Accountability's website under "Disruption of Congress" and are a "must read" for all patriotic citizens who want to end judicial tyranny and the corruption of our federal and state judicial nominating and disciplinary processes. That is the Center's mission.
On this July 4th, we at CJA hope that our citizenry will honor Elena's principled sacrifice which caused her to spend last July 4th (2004) in solitary confinement in a DC jail by supporting the Center's efforts to increase integrity, independence, and competence of judicial nominees and demand that there be no more judgeships used for political "pay-offs."
CJA rejoices for Elena's freedom and renewed energy to hold those responsible for her wrongful arrest and incarceration accountable for their complicity in the monstrous perversion of justice that put a good American citizen patriot-Elena Sassower-behind bars.
Thanks for your continuing reportage, John, on our important, newsworthy issues
Feel free to call should you have any questions.
