WPCNR MR. & MRS. & MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. May 4, 2005. UPDATED 11:26 P.M. E.D.T.: A writer writes the editor protesting our request to send comments to editor@whiteplainscnr.com, rather than free form posting. WPCNR invites you to weigh in on the policy:
If you're worried about libel why not make it a rule that no comment may contain proper names. If comments are on objective issues the can talk about people but no one person in particular. If two brave warriors want to fight it out and call each other names invite them on your show and sell tickets.
Al Del Vecchio
John-
Revert policy to what it was, but require proper names for each responder. You encourage their venom by allowing them to be anonymous.

The CitizeNetReporter Replies: I tried this Marc the last time posters got out of line, and all comments stopped. The point is there is nothing you cannot say on this site as long as it is not libelous, character defamement, and innuendo that damages reputations and "good" names. I just have to read it first.
WP CNR, It looks like your site has become "one-way", so to speak: from you to us, but not the other way. I can no longer comment on articles, and all of the old comments are gone. This is a shame; I thought that it was great to hear from other WP residents.
Charles 5/4/05
The CitizeNetReporter Replies: Charles we invite your comments. We hope we do not lose you. No one is being stifled just trying to uplift the level of discourse to a profanity-free, libel-free, reputation-trashing free environment. We regret that the irresponsibility of the few hurt the many.
