Query on Comprehensive Plan Analysis & Zoning Changes Posted on Wednesday, April 27 @ 08:57:01 EDT by jfbailey

Toast of the Town! WPCNR MR. & MS. & MRS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. April 27, 2005: This comment on the Comprehensive Plan Committee Review was posted last evening. The writer submits an exasperated protest about the sweeping zoning change enacted, permitting 40 Stories on the 221 Main Street Site:

Is there not one of that group that will go to the Governor's web site and see what they are doing in PATENTLY ILLEGAL?

Try googling these words:" seqra zoning comprehensive plan" and see what comes up. The first hit should be the official NYS website which contains an article written by not local experts stating UNEQUIVOCALLY that any rezoning process is subject to SEQRA process. The comprehensive plan is the backbone of all zoning jurisdiction. Without one, case law fills in  the details. With one, zoning
changes are enabled, even if the Plan is not formally adopted and made official pursuant to resolution.

What's is wrong with the thought processes of these people? Didn't any of them perform due diligence to see if what they were doing was legit in the first place? Are they so blinded by ego ("Look at me, I was picked!!!") that they can not see the bigger picture?

They are dupes for the Mayor who wants to present his own comprensive plan (probably already printed up)  as the backing for any zoning changes made, like the rezoning of the CBD to 40 stories and the use of the NYS Building Code instead of White Plains' more stringent code, etc., ad nauseum.

These people sitting on this committee are unsuspecting pawns and its disgusting they were set up this way.

Uncle Joe should be ashamed !! What a sham!!!!

And why are we selling White Plains land, open spaces, environmentally sensitive land for $$$$ to fill in the raped reserves? Is this like selling the De'lia land for nothing at first and then buying it back for millions?? Damn this is sickening.

DO IT RIGHT OR DON'T DO IT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!

Steve Brown - research this!!!!
