Been out of town...still felt I was in White Plains, reading what is new in CitizeNetReporter. Election Results, daily news, and especially with your detailed reporting of the new Cappelli design. Site is indeed timely, newsworthy and great. Thanks for keeping me informed. Fantastic job. -- Leonard Nadel of White Plains

WPCNR MR. AND MRS. AND MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. March 29, 2005: Dan has posted a public apology to the Department of Planning on his environmental concerns about the 221 Main Street development. Here are his comments and call to action:
Dear JOHN,
Forsome reason I could not post this addition to the cappelli/ginsberg article on the bottom of the front page. Could you be so kind as to post it? I talked with Sue habel. Its Mike Gismondi's jursidiction .
Thanks. Dan
"I stand corrected. Susan (Habel) : I appologize in public!!!!!
IT IS DEPT OF BUILDINGS WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE ENFORCEMENT POWERS AND USE THEM!!!!!!!!
BUILDINGS DOES NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY???????????
SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO, it is Mike Gismondi (422-1287) I have (AS DO WE ALL HAVE TO!) to bitch and moan at to get some enforcement of the environmental code , building code, site plans requirements done.
I have called Mike this am (10:05 a.m.), left word with "Paulette" about the construction trucks leaving the 221 Main site without washing off all the mud, that there is no gravel pit as required by NPDES and SPDES permits AND the site plan, for the trucks to be hosed off prior to leaving site, there are no hay bales to stop the slide of sediment towards the stormdrains - This type of slip shod constuction is occuring throughout White Plains , not only on the 2221 Main site./
Anyone driving down Mam'k Ave , before Rosedale, down by the Hillaire Circle area and side, there is a house (2?) going up with steep slope erosion occuring on a daily basis - no sufficient amount of hay bales, netting, stopping of silt from going into the Mamaroneck River and the LI Sound (VIOLATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ), on 28 or 38 Valley Road, again there is no sufficient sedimentation and erosion control inplace and this has been documented by videos and stills, as is 221Main being documented ; again even at JPI on 300 mam'k Ave in WP< there is loads of crap going into the stormdrains. Once can not help but see it, unless one turns a blind eye for some reason - is that what is happening here? the loss of environmental controls in our small City?
IS THIS YOUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE?? IT IS CERTAINLY NOT MINE OR MY KIDS'!!! IT SHOULD NOT BE ANYONES!!!!!
NO ENFORCEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHITE PLAINS SHOULD BE CITED AS A POLLUTER!!!!!! THIS IS OUR WATER WE ARE TALKING ABOUT, OUR FISHES, OUR LOCAL BEACHES - WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!
