WPCNR MR. AND MRS. AND MS. WHITE PLAINS VOICE. March 3, 2005: It has been two weeks since a group of White Plains High School students were arrested by Greenburgh Police as they attended a private teen party in the Tarrytown Marriott. No word has come from the School District on how these students are being disciplined for breaking school conduct rules against teen drinking. The party was held after the White Plains High School Junior Prom.
In the past the problems of teen drinking have been snickered at, ignored, and the punishments of drinking WPHS teens kept pretty much secret. What do parents and teens think about the punishment that the high school, the Middle School, or any school in White Plains should hand down to teens putting themselves, their friends, at risk from binge drinking, or worse, driving under the influence? WPCNR has drawn up a suggested list of disciplinary actions.
Of course, no disciplinary action is effective if there is a double-standard in enforcing it. WPCNR invites your vote at the right.
