WPCNR WHITE PLAINS VOICE. December 24, 2004: A WPCNR reader, reacting to the glowing financial condition of the New York State Dormitory Authority, writes on the inability of the Authority to save St.Agnes Hospital when it is flush in cash, according to their news release scheduled for release on bond sales, scheduled for release in January. Here is our reader's letter:
Here is some interesting facts reflecting the DASNY Bond issue - finance information not yet released but scheduled for press release January 5, 2005 by the DASNY.
What a disgrace it is that the DASNY could not with-draw the St. Agnes property auction to private investors and retain it for the good of all, especially the needy in White Plains.
36 million dollars in bonds seems quite small to close our hospital when the DASNY can issue 6 billion dollars in bonds.
Apparently they are proud of what they finance and proud of what they close down in terms of community medical facility needs.
Sinful is it not, that our community has to loose the St. Agnes Hospital because of some decision makers at the DASNY acting in the worst interest for the people of Westchester County and our resident taxpayers in White Plains.
Accountability is what be questioned !
Best for the holiday to you,
