WPCNR WESTCHESTER VOICE. By Bob Petrucci. March 30, 2004: Bob Petrucci, "Mr. Golf," has written an open letter to Westchester County Board of Legislators Chair, Bill Ryan, demanding an investigation of unpaid rounds of golf taking up space on county golf courses. Here is "Mr. Golf's" letter:
To: Bill Ryan, BOL Chair
Mr. Ryan:
Please tell us what we have to do to have investigated, and receive a full explanation about, these apparent 70-90,000 rounds of UNPAID golf in 2001 and 2002 and who knows how many other years.
That's a loss of $millions in county revenue (while property taxes, golf fees, hospital expenses, courthouse expenses, etc. go thru the roof).
Every little bit of revenue should count.
So far, we've mentioned it to the BOL. to many others, etc. and patiently waited for someone to do something. And not one person has stepped forward to deny it, disprove it, etc.
We hope this is not a "sweep it under the rug" issue.
In fact, we even told the Parks Board about it, with a member saying "We'll look into it". That was months ago...and nothing was done.
We urge that you initiate an investigation on this, even if part of a full investigation on county golf.
Your comments are appreciated.
